Audi A2 Aims Cross Hairs at Nissan Juke
Should it reach production, the A2 would probably be based on the A1 platform but obviously with much more ground clearance. Given its similarity to the A1, it would be a likely host the same 1.4-litre direct-injection four-cylinder turbocharged engine. A 1.6-liter diesel is also likely to make an appearance.
Given Audi’s penchant for playing hard-to-get with offering its smaller cars in North America, it doesn’t seem likely that the A2 will make its way here. That speculation seems even more likely to come true considering the brand already offers three SUVs and has a Q6 on the way.
Still, there’s a chance that those cars will eventually trickle over, especially as the idea of driving small cars sinks in sweetly next to rising fuel costs. Should it cross the pond, we would expect to see a strict four-seater with folding rears to make more cargo space, which is sure to be short supply.
Expect similar styling to the rest of the Audi family on the outside. LED lights are sure to be abound and the rear end of the roof is likely to be crunched down, looking similar to the BMW X6.
